BIRTH & DEATH John was born on 10 February 1733 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[1,33] and died in Lynn, Essex co., MA on 20 December 1803; he was 70[1,38].
OCCUPATION John was listed as a Husbandman in 1783 and a Yeoman in 1778[34].
CHURCH MEMBERSHIP As for church membership, the family was probably Quaker. His wife's father Nathan was an ardent Quaker. Also, the birth dates of the children are in Old Style well into the late 1700s. This means they were taken from the records of the Friends Society. Finally, his son John & his wife Hannah were definitely Quakers.
MARRIAGE On 11 November 1754 when John was 21, he married Hannah2 BREED, daughter of Nathan BREED & Mary BASSETT, in Lynn, Essex co., MA[1,29]. Their names are thrice in the Lynn marriage records, twice incorrectly: (1) as a misentry under "Mower, Hannah" in the bible source. (2) as the correct "Mower, John, and Hannah Breed" entry in the town records and (3) as another misentry in the bible source as "Mower, John, jr., and Hannah Mower, Nov. 1, 1795".

CHILDREN i. Enoch1 MOWER Enoch1 was born on 5 March 1755 as "Mower, Enock" in Lynn, Essex co., MA[33] and died in 1756 in Lynn, Essex co., MA. Enoch1 was buried on 14 November 1756 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[42].
ii. Lydia MOWER Lydia was born on 26 August 1757 in Lynn, Essex co., MA and died in Lynn, Essex co., MA on 26d:2m:1823; she was 65[41]. On 15 April 1778 when Lydia was 20, she first married Jabez BREED, son of Isaiah BREED, in Lynn, Essex co., MA[34]. Jabez was a Cordwainer[34]. Lydia second married John PRATT.
iii. Alice MOWER Alice was born on 17 February 1759 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[33]. On 27d:9m:1780 when Alice was 21, she married Samuel CHASE, son of Philip CHASE & ,b>Hannah [surname not known], in Lynn, Essex co., MA[43]. Samuel was of Swansea and a Cordwainer[34].
iv. Abigail MOWER Abigail was born on 13 October 1762 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[33]. On 11d:4m:1783 when Abigail was 21, she married Samuel BLAKE of Newburyport[34], son of Amos BLAKE, in Lynn, Essex co., MA[43].
v. Elizabeth MOWER Elizabeth was born on 18 July 1765 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[33]. Before 1784 when Elizabeth was 18, she married Benjamin Hood PHILLIPS, son of Gideon PHILLIPS & Rebekah [surname not known], in Lynn, Essex co., MA[43].
vi. Enoch2 MOWER Enoch2 was born on 13 April 1768 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[33] [P.R. 156 says 1767]. On 21d:9m:1791 when Enoch2 was 23, he married Lydia NEWHALL, daughter of Abijah NEWHALL & Abigail [surname not known], in Lynn, Essex co., MA[43].
vii. Mary MOWER Mary was born on 12 March 1770 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[33]. On 20d:9m:1792 when Mary was 22, she married Jonathon PHILLIPS Jr., Cordwainer[3], son of Gideon PHILLIPS & Rebekah [surname not known], in Lynn, Essex co., MA[44].
vii. Martha MOWER (Twin) Martha was born on 26 March 1773 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[33]. Martha married Enoch BREED, Tanner[34], son of Ebeneezer BREED & Lydia [surname not known].

x. Nathan MOWER Nathan was born on 7 February 1776 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[33]. Nathan first married Huldah WINSLOW. Nathan second married Lydia NEAL.
xi. [unnamed son] MOWER He was born on 5 March 1755 in Lynn, Essex co., MA and is only known from his entry in the Lynn birth records as "___, s. John, jr."[45].
