BIRTH & DEATH John was born on 10 February 1733 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[1,33] and died in Lynn, Essex co., MA on 20 December 1803; he was 70[1,38].
CHURCH MEMBERSHIP He and Hannah were Quakers and she was buried in the Friends' Burial Ground.
MARRIAGE #1 On 11 January 1795 when John was 21, he first married Hannah WOODMAN, daughter of John WOODMAN Jr. & Hannah2 SCALES, in Lynn, Essex co., MA[46]. Their marriage was recorded in the Bible of John Norwood, 369 Summer Street [P.R. 125], where her maiden name is mistakenly listed as "Mower".

ii. [unnamed child] MOWER [unnamed child] who died on 30d:3m:1798 in Lynn, Essex co., MA. This child's death is listed in P.R. 125 [John Norwood's Bible] as "John Mower's Child Died 3 mo 30 1798" There is no other mention of this child.

MARRIAGE #2 On 14d:9m:1803 when John was 29, he second married Sarah BREED, daughter of James BREED Jr. & Hannah [surname not known], in Lynn, Essex co., MA[1,43]. Their marriage is recorded as "daughter of James, Jr. and Hannah, dec." in the C.R. 1 [The Salem Monthly Meeting Society of Friends Records].

CHILDREN i. Lydia MOWER Lydia was born on 14 June 1804.
4. ii. Louisa MOWER Louisa was born on 20 June 1807 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[33]. On 1 June 1826 when Louisa was 18, she married Lycander CHASE, in Lynn, Essex co., MA as "Mower, Loisa"[34].
iii. Amos Edwin MOWER Amos Edwin was born on 30 August 1810.
iv. Nathan MOWER Nathan was born on 1 March 1818 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[33]. On 9 August 1840 when Nathan was 22, he married Catharine SILSBEE, in Lynn, Essex co., MA[3].
v. Samuel Carter MOWER Samuel Carter was born on 11 May 1823 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[32]. A duplicate record exists in C.R. 1 as "Mower Samuel, s. John and Sarah, 11:5m:1823". Samuel Carter became a Cordwainer[3]. On 4 May 1845 when Samuel Carter was 21, he married J. Hurd PIKE, daughter of Noah PIKE & Abigail [surname not known], in Lynn, Essex co., MA[3]. Samuel was 22 and J. Hurd was 21.
