The Woodman family is an old and established one on the North Shore area of Massachusetts. One of the family's claims to fame is the invention of the fried clam. The family restaurant cum clam shack is thriving and can be visited year around on route 135 in Essex, Essex co., MA. People drive for miles in the New England area to make a pilgrimage to Woodman's and enjoy the best fried clams in existence from the family recipe which invented them.
Burke's Arms for Woodman:
"Woodman - Ar. a chev. sable betw. three escallops gu.
Crest - a buck's head erased ppr."
Crozier's Arms for Woodman (the same thing as described above with fewer abbreviations):
"Woodman - MA, Edward Woodman, Newbury, 1635. (Wiltshire)
Argent, a chevron sable between three escallops gules.
Crest - A buck's head erased proper."
This translates to:
Silver background (Argent).
A black (sable) chevron between three red (gules) scallop shells.
The crest is a buck's head torn from its body (erased) in its proper coloring (proper).
Here is one web-found representation from http://www.freecoatsofarms.com
(N.B. the crest is wrong. It should be a buck's head and not a knight's helm.):
