BIRTH Her birth date has been variously given as 1577 and 1587. However, 1587 is more likely.
DEATH Elizabeth died in Chelsea, Middlesex co., MA on 16 February 1669/70; she was 92. Anderson says that she was most likely a decade younger.
NAME TIDBIT In some early records, her first husband Thomas used the double name "Williams alias Harris" or simply the surname "Williams". The reason for this is not known, and his descendants only used Harris, the ancestral surname.
MIGRATION & RESIDENCE The family migrated to Boston, Suffolk co., MA in 1630 possibly on the Lyon from Bristol, England.
MARRIAGE #1 Circa 1605 when Elizabeth was 28, she first married Thomas HARRIS, son of William HARRIS & Agnes MASON, in England. Thomas ran the first ferry in the American Colonies.

MARRIAGE #2 Elizabeth second married Deacon William STITSON. William died on 11 April 1691 in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA; "about 91". He was a Yeoman, Brewer and took over the ferry after Thomas Harris' death.

Samuel Maverick actually was granted the right to run the ferry on 3 September 1634 and he leased this right to Stitson for the rest of his days.

On 27 February 1634/5, he and John Blackleach sold the lion's share of the Winnisimmet estate to Richard Bellingham. Maverick also sold the reversion of the ferry to him at this time and on 28 August 1635, Stitson sold his life interest in the ferry to Bellingham. The rest of the Maverick estate stayed in the hands of Elias Maverick.

"William Stidson" was granted 30 acres of "upland and marsh" at Pullen Point in the area of Rumney Marsh.

In his will of 2 April 1688 William Stitson bequeathed to "John Harris, Thomas Harris, WIlliam Harris, Daniel Harris, and Anna Maverick, relict widow of Elias Maverick, deceased, the children of my first wife".
