BIRTH & DEATH	Robert was born in 1629 in Newport-Pagnel, Buckinghamshire, England and baptized there on 9 February 1629^[65]. He died in Lynn, Essex co., MA on 20 March 1709/10; he was 80^[65,66].
OCCUPATION & RESIDENCE	Robert was a Carpenter and lived on Mill Street in Lynn, Essex co., MA^[65].
MILITARY SERVICE	He served in the local militia and rose to the rank of Captain while serving in the King Philip's War.
LEGAL MENTION & EDUCATION	He was one of the witnesses to the will of John Mansfield of Lynn in 1671^[67] and also was witness to the will of John Gillow of Lynn in 1673^[68]. Finally, Robert was witness to the will of Thomas Newhall, Sr. of Lynn in 1674^[69]. Robert was educated, as he signed his name to all these wills instead of just "making his mark".
MARRIAGE #1	Before 1657 when Robert was 28, he first married a woman about whom we know nothing, in Lynn, Essex co., MA^[1,15,37].

Samuel1 was born in 28d:3m:1657 in Lynn, Essex co., MA^[128] and died before the birth of Samuel2 in 1681.

MARRIAGE #2 On 25d:11m(November):1659 when Robert was 30, he second married Ruth DRIVER, daughter of Robert DRIVER & Phoebe [surname not known], in Lynn, Essex co., MA^{[1,37,70,71,72,73,74,75,76,77]}. In June of 1652, Ruth joined the feud between the Hathorne & Driver families when John Hathorne struck Ruth with a board over some shoats^[78].

39. ii. Nathaniel POTTER Nathaniel was born in 14d:2m:1663 in Lynn, Essex co., MA^[128] and died in Lynn, Essex co., MA before 1726; he was 62.

40. iii. John POTTER John was born in 13d:7m:1665 in Lynn, Essex co., MA^[135]. On 27 May 1692 when John was 26, he married Elizabeth NORWOOD, in Lynn, Essex co., MA^[45].

41. iv. Elizabeth1 POTTER Elizabeth1 was born on 9d:12m:1667/8 in Lynn, Essex co., MA^[136] and died in Lynn, Essex co., MA before 15 August 1671; she was 3.

42. v. Elizabeth2 POTTER Elizabeth2 was born in 15d:6m:1670 in Lynn, Essex co., MA^[136] and married Joseph FLOOD.

43. vi. Ruth POTTER Ruth was born on 27 February 1673 in Lynn, Essex co., MA and married John IVORY.

44. vii. Joseph POTTER Joseph was born on 25 December 1676 in Lynn, Essex co., MA^[135].

45. viii. Captain Benjamin POTTER Benjamin was born on 11 April 1680 in Lynn, Essex co., MA^[137] and died in Lynn, Essex co., MA on 25 April 1745; he was 65^[134]. He married Ruth BURRILL, daughter of Lieutenant John2 BURRILL & Lois IVORY. She was born on 17 May 1682 in Lynn, Essex co., MA^[138] and died in Lynn, Essex co., MA on 23 October 1771; she was 89.

46. ix. Samuel2 POTTER Samuel2 was born on 8 May 1681 in Lynn, Essex co., MA^[139]. On 1 April 1709 when Samuel2 was 27, he married Elizabeth HARTT, in Lynn, Essex co., MA^[45].

47. x. ^{[possibly Thomas]} POTTER He was born circa 1684 in Lynn, Essex co., MA.
