DEATH Samuel died between 8 September 1678, when his will was written, and 17 September 1678, when his will was proven.
CHURCH MEMBERSHIP Samuel was admitted to the church at Charlestown on 5 December 1669[3].
RESIDENCE & REAL ESTATE Samuel was of Malden, Middlesex co., MA, but also owned land in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA. He bought 2.75 acres of land in Charlestown from T. Brigden in 1666 and sold 2 acres to A. Hill there in 1670/1. He bought a house & land from James Gooding in Charlestown in 1677[2].
ESTATE As previously mentioned, his will was written 8 September 1678 and proved on 17d:1m(September):1678. He gave his son Thomas a house & 2 acres in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA in addition to all the meadow from Sprague's Marsh to Bullard's Bridge. He also received 4 acres of plowland "before door"; 2 lots at 2 acres each; a haylot at the Cambridge line and Meadow adjoining Bullard Bridge. Thomas also received 4 cow commons, with the stipulation that he paid his brother Joseph & four sisters. Jonathon received the Great Lot; the marsh between Widow Lynde & Bullard Bridge and 2 cow commons. John received the house & malthouse at the Neck & land, except for the houseplot for Joseph, 50 by 50, between dwelling house and creek. 12 acres bought of James Gooding and 2 cow commons[2].
MARRIAGE Before 1655 Samuel married Mary [surname not known], in Malden, Middlesex co., MA or Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA[1,4,6,20,21,22,23]. Mary was born circa 1630[24], as estimated from her death information. She died of Smallpox on 17 January 1705/6; she was 75[3]. Mary was admitted to the church at Charlestown on 27 March 1670[3]. As a widow, Mary was granted 8 cow commons in 1681. She also received 11 acres of land in 3 separate parcels, two by her house and the other between James Russell's land, the watering-place and Thomas Danforth's land in 1681. In 1700, she also consented to a sale of land to Jonathon Pierce[25].

CHILDREN 8. i. Samuel PIERCE Samuel was baptized in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA on 16d:11m(December):1669/70[3]. His estate was inventoried on 30 March 1691, and totaled £169[26]. Samuel married Mary ORTON.

10. iii. Thomas PIERCE Thomas was born on 7d:11m(January):1657/8 in Malden, Middlesex co., MA[3,27] and died of a fever on 4 August 1693; he was 36[26]. At the age of 12, Thomas was baptized in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA on 16d:11m(January):1669/70[3].

Thomas had a Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA grant of 13.75 acres, 20 poles in 1685. He also received another grant of 10 poles "by corner highway to the fieldbridge" that same year[26]. The inventory of his estate in Charlestown included his house, 26 acres of upland and 7 acres of marsh, valued at £331. His heirs applied for administration on 20 November 1699[26]. Thomas married Elizabeth HALL.

11. iv. John1 PIERCE John1 was born in 6m(August):1658 in Malden, Middlesex co., MA[3,27] and died in Malden, Middlesex co., MA on 6m(August):1659; he was 1[3,37]. Wyman says that he died in 1658, but the vital records for Malden, Middlesex co., MA say 1659.
12. v. Joseph PIERCE Joseph was born in 6m(August):1659 in Malden, Middlesex co., MA[3,27]. At the age of 10, Joseph was baptized in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA on 16d:11m(January):1669/70[3].

15. viii. Elizabeth PIERCE Elizabeth was born in 8m(October):1666 in Malden, Middlesex co., MA[27]. At the age of 3, Elizabeth was baptized in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA on 16d:11m(January):1669/70[3]. Elizabeth married John CURTICE.
16. ix. Persis PIERCE Persis was born on 30 January 1668/9 in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA[3]. At the age of 1, Persis was baptized in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA on 16d:11m(January):1669/70[3]. Persis married John SHEPHERD.
17. x. Abigail PIERCE Abigail was born on 16 April 1670 in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA[3] and baptized in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA on 29d:3m(May):1670[3]. Abigail's will was written on 3 April 1707 and proved on 31 May 1708. The inventory totaled £77[3]. Abigail was admitted to the church at Charlestown on 8 October 1699[3].
18. xi. Hannah PIERCE Hannah was born on 28 December 1671 in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA[3] and was baptized in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA on 31 December 1671[3]. Hannah married Samuel COUNCE.
