DEATH & BURIAL She died in Boston, Suffolk co., MA on 18 December 1744; she was 78[6,12]. She is buried in Copp's Hill Cemetery in Boston, Suffolk co., MA. Her gravestone reads: "Here lyes ye Body of Mrs. Mary Pierce wife of Mr. Jonathan Pierce of Charlestown, aged 81 years, died dec. ye 18th 1744."
CHURCH MEMBERSHIP & LEGAL MENTION Mary was a formidable woman. She "own. cov't 12 (6) 1688" in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA according to Wyman[30], was granted administration of her husband's estate in 1722 and was admitted to the church at Charlestown on 30 October 1726, "ancilla nostra"[31].
MARRIAGE On 4d:10m(December):1683 when Mary was 17, she married Jonathon PIERCE, son of Samuel PIERCE & Mary [surname not known], in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA[6,12,19,22,32,33,34,35,36,37] by Wor. Tho. Danforth, Esq. Deputy Governor.
