BIRTH William was probably born circa 1620-1625, as based upon the birthdate of his eldest child on 24 August 1645.
OTHER INFO We currently know nothing of his migration or death.
MARRIAGE Circa 1643 William married a woman named Ruth in Newbury, Essex co., MA or Durham, Strafford co., NH[1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9]. Her surname list in Torrey is: BENFORD, BEDFIELD, BEDFORD and PERLEY. When all is said and done, according to another source, she may also possibly be the daughter of Francis PLUMMER. Robert Anderson, however, in his sketch of Francis Plummer in The Great Migration Begins...[III:1485], further explains this. Apparently, "John Plummer suggests on circumstantial grounds that Ruth, wife of William Sawyer of Newbury, was a daughter of Francis. However, the settlement of the estate of the immigrant indicates that he was survived by only three children - two sons and a daughter - who are already accounted for (Samuel, Joseph and Mary#&41;. The evidence gathered by Plummer indicates some connection between Francis Plummer and Ruth (______#&41; Sawyer, but this connection was probably more distant than father and daughter..." As such, Ruth#&39;s parentage remains a mystery.

5. iv. Mary1 SAWYER Mary1 was born on 7 February 1649 in Newbury, Essex co., MA[15] and died there on 24 June 1659; she was 10[12].
6. v. Sara SAWYER Sara was born on 20 November 1651 in Newbury, Essex co., MA[16].
7. vi. Hanna1 SAWYER Hanna1 was born on 23 February 1653 in Newbury, Essex co., MA[17] and died there on 25 January 1659; she was 5[18]. In the Court Record of her birth, she is listed as a "d. William" and the date of her birth is recorded as 20 January 1659.
8. vii. William SAWYER William was born on 1 February 1655/6 in Newbury, Essex co., MA[16].
9. viii. Frances1 SAWYER Frances1 was born on 24 March 1658 in Newbury, Essex co., MA[19] and died there on 7 February 1659[18].
10. ix. Mary2 SAWYER Mary2 as born on 29 July 1660 in Newbury, Essex co., MA[15]. On 13 June 1683 when Mary was 23, she married Mary2 SAWYER, daughter of Sergeant John EMERY, JR. & Mary [SURNAME NOT KNOWN], in Newbury, Essex co., MA[57,101].
11. x. Stephen SAWYER Stephen was born on 25 April 1663 in Newbury, Essex co., MA[16]. There is a second entry for him, with the same date, under "Sawyer, Steven, s. Will[iam]". Stephen died in Newbury, Essex co., MA on 8 June 1753; he was 91[20].
12. xi. Hannah2 SAWYER Hannah2 was born on 11 January 1664 in Newbury, Essex co., MA[17] and died there on 28 August 1683; she was 19[18].
13. xii. Francis2 SAWYER Francis2 was born on 3 November 1670 in Newbury, Essex co., MA[17].
