MIGRATION & RESIDENCE Once he migrated to New England, he settled first in Scituate, Plymouth co., MA and then Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA.
MARRIAGE #1 On 10 October 1610 when John was 26, he first married Hannah HOUSE, in England[1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24]. This date is the date when they received their marriage license. Hannah died before 1635, when Thomas married his second wife, Ann HAMMOND.

3. ii. Joseph LOTHROP Joseph was born circa 1630, as based upon the date of his marriage. On 11 December 1650 when Joseph was 20, he married Mary ANSEL, in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[1,38].

They had the following children: i. [unnamed child] was born on 19 November 1651 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38] and died there on 20 November 1651[38].
ii. Joseph was born on 5 December 1652 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38] and died there in October 1676; he was 23[38].
iii. Mary was born on 22 March 1654 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38].
iv. Benjamin was born on 25 July 1657 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38]. In 1689 when Benjamin was 31, he married Abigail EDWARDS?, possibly in Hartford, CT[1].
v. Elizabeth was born on 18 September 1659 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38].
vi. John1 was born on 28 November 1661 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38] and died there on 30 December 1663; he was 2[38].
vii. Samuel was born on 17 March 1663/4 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38]. On 1 July 1686 when Samuel was 23, he married Hannah CROCKER, in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[1].
viii. John2 was born on 7 August 1666 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38]. Before 1692 when John2 was 25, he married Elizabeth GREEN, in Boston, Suffolk co., MA[1].
ix. Barnabas was born on 24 February 1668 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38].
x. Hope was born on 15 July 1671 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38]. On 17 December 1696 when Hope was 25, he married Elizabeth LOTHROP, in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[1]. This is perhaps Hope's first cousin Elizabeth, daughter of Benjamin LOTHROP from Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA. However, lacking solid proof of this, I have listed her without a link to parents.
xi. Thomas was born on 6 January 1673 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38].
xii. Hannah was born on 23 January 1675 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38] and died there on 1 February 1680; she was 5[38].

4. iii. Benjamin LOTHROP Benjamin was born in 1631 in Scituate, Plymouth co., MA[1,39] and died in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA on 3 July 1691; he was 60[39]. Sometime before 1651, when Benjamin was 20, he married Martha [surname not known], in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA[39]. Martha was admitted to the Church at Charlestown on 29d:5m(July):1660[39].

They had the following children:
i. Benjamin was born before 1652 in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA. At the age of 8, Benjamin was baptized there on 5d:6m(August):1660[39], along with Martha and Hannah. He served in the Narraganset War in 1676[39].
ii. Martha was born on 3 November 1652 in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA[39]. On 5d:6m(August):1660, at the age of 7, Martha was baptized there[39], along with Benjamin and Hannah. She married John GOODWIN,/b>.
iii. Hannah was born on 15 September 1655 in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA[39]. On 5d:6m(August):1660, at the age of 4, Hannah was baptized there[39] along with Martha & Benjamin. She married Henry SWAIN.
iv. Mary was born in 1661 and was baptized in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA on 9d:4m(June):1661[39]. She married William BROWN.
v. Sarah was born on 10 April 1664 in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA[39] and was baptized there on 17 April 1664[73]. Sarah died on 10 July 1664 in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA[39].
vi. Elizabeth was born on 17 May 1665 in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA[39] and was baptized there on 21 May 1665.
vii. Rebecca was born on 14 November 1666 in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA[39] and was baptized there on 18 November 1666[39].
viii. Mercy was born on 17 December 1670 in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA[39] and was baptized there on 18 December 1670[74]. Mercy died on 31 March 1671 in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA[39].
ix. John was born on 15 July 1672 in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA[39] and was baptized there on 21 July 1672[39]. John died in Charlestown, Suffolk co., MA on 15d:1m(March):1674; he was 1[39].

MARRIAGE #2 Circa 1635 when John was 51, he second married Ann HAMMOND, in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[1,4,5,6,7,9,14,20,21,25,26,27,28,29,30,31,32,33,34,35,36,37]. Ann died on 25 February 1686/8 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38], with the notation "Probably the wife of Mr. John Lothrop, first minister of Barnstable, the father of the three families of Lothrops above..." in the New England Historic Genealogical Register article which mentions her death.

CHILDREN 5. i. Barnabas LOTHROP Barnabas was born in 1636 in Scituate, Plymouth co., MA as "Lothropp, Bernabas". He was baptized in Scituate, Plymouth co., MA on 6 June 1636[62]. On 1 December 1658 when Barnabas was 22, he first married Susannah CLERK, in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[1,38].

They had the following children:
i. John was born on 7 October 1659 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38] and died there in April 1666; he was 6[38].
ii. Abigail was born on 18 December 1660 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38].
iii. Barnabas was born on 22 March 1662/3 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38]. He married Elizabeth HEDGE.
iv. Susannah was born in February 1664 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38].
v. Nathaniel was born on 23 November 1669 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38] and died there in 1700; he was 30[1]. Before 1696 when Nathaniel was 26, he married Bethiah [surname not known], in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[1].
vi. Bathshua was born on 25 June 1671 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38].
vii. Anna was born on 10 August 1673 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38].
viii. Thomas was born on 7 March 1674/5 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38] and died there on 14 October 1675; he was 1[38].
ix. Mercy was born on 27 January 1675 in Barnstable, Barnstable co., MA[38] and died there on 3 July 1677; she was 2[38].

On 15 November 1698 when Barnabas was 62, he second married Abigail DUDSON, in Boston, Suffolk co., MA[1].
