BIRTH Mathew was born in 1649/50 in Lynn, Essex co., MA
DEATH He died in Lynn, Essex co., MA on 16 July 1727; he was 78[44].
CITIZENSHIP Mathew, Jr. took the Oath of Freeman on 18 April 1691, most likely in Lynn, Essex co., MA[46].
RESIDENCE On 7 July 1682, Richard & Mary deeded over to Matthew Farrington, Jr. "...a dwelling house and all that parcell of land sometime in the posession of Anthony Newhall deceased, viz., four acres more or less, or two-thirds of a six acre lot where the house stood, bounded Westerly with land of John Gillow, Easterly with land of John Hawthorne, Northerly with land of Robert Potter, Senr, Southerly with the country highway that lyeth in the mill street..." This four acre lot had been bequeathed to Mary in her father, Anthony's will[45].
MARRIAGE #1 On 28 April 1675 when Mathew was 26, he first married Sarah POTTER, in Lynn, Essex co., MA[2,47,48,49]. Sarah died in September of 1687 in Lynn, Essex co., MA and was buried on 14 September 1687 in the Old or Western Burial Ground in Lynn, Essex co., MA.

CHILDREN 16. i. Sarah1 FARRINGTON Sarah1 was born in "the beginning of" February 1675 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[70]. This year must be 1676, and not 1675. She died in Lynn, Essex co., MA on 26 November 1676; she was 1[71].
17. ii. Sarah2 FARRINGTON Sarah2 was born on 20 September 1677 in Lynn, Essex co., MA as "Sarah, second"[70].

19. iv. Sammuel FARRINGTON Sammuel was born on 29 September 1681 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[70].
20. v. Joseph FARRINGTON Joseph was born on 10 June 1686 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[70].

MARRIAGE #2 Before 1689 when Mathew was 40, he second married Mary NEWHALL, in Flushing, Long Island, NY[2,50]. Mary was born in 1669 in Lynn, Essex co., MA and died in Lynn, Essex co., MA as "Farinton, Mary, wid..in her 86th year" on 12 May 1755; she was 86[51]. Mary was buried on 14 May 1755 in Lynn, Essex co., MA as "Farrington, __, 'Old Granne'"[52].


CHILDREN 21. i. Mary1 FARRINGTON Mary1 was born on 6 March 1692/3 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[70] and died on 13 March 1692/3 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[77].
22. ii. Dorritye FARRINGTON Dorritye was born on 3 November 1694 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[78].

24. iv. Prudence FARRINGTON Prudence was born on 28 August 1700 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[70].
25. v. Mathew FARRINGTON Mathew was born on 24 February 1702/3 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[70].
26. vi. Rebekah FARRINGTON Rebekah was born on 29 October 1706 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[70].
