MARRIAGE He married Anne [surname not known], who died in 1626 in Romsey, Hampshire, England and was buried there on 1 November 1626[1].

5. ii. Anthony EMERY Anthony was born in 1601 in Romsey, Hampshire, England and was baptized there on 29 August 1601[1,78]. Anthony died in Newbury, Essex co., MA before 10 May 1700; he was 99[78]. He died actually, between 9 March 1680/1 and 10 May 1700 - probably closer to the earlier date.

Anthony was a Carpenter in England, and an Innkeeper here[78]. He came over aboard the James in 1635. He first settled in Newbury, Essex co., MA then removed to Dover, Strafford co., NH in 1640; Kittery, York co., ME in 1649 and Portsmouth, RI in 1660[79]. He is treated extensively in Robert Anderson's The Great Migration Begins...

Before 1631 when Anthony was 30, he married Frances [surname not known], in Romsey, Hampshire, England[57,78,80,81,82,83,84].

They had the following children:
i. James was born in 1631 in Romsey, Hampshire, England and was baptized there on 18 September 1631[1,106]. Before 1658 when James was 27, he married Elizabeth [surname not known][57], in Kittery or Berwick, York co., ME[57].
ii. Rebecca was born circa 1633 in Romsey, Hampshire, England[106].
iii. [unknown child] was born before 1643. Anthony Emery petitioned the General Court before 7 March 1643/4, stating that he had three children to support. There is no other record of this child[106].

6. iii. Ellin EMERY Ellin was born in 1601 in Romsey, Hampshire, England and was baptized there on 7 September 1601[1].
7. iv. Hugh EMERY Hugh was born in 1604 in Romsey, Hampshire, England and was baptized there on 6 October 6014[1].
