BIRTH & BAPTISM Henry, Jr. was born on 29 October 1629 in Stepney Parish, Middlesex, England[56] and baptized in St. Dunstan, Stepney, London, England on 4 November 1629[58,59]; "...at 5 days old, 'son of Henry Collins of Ratcliff Highway, starchmaker & Anne uxor'..".
DEATH Henry died in Lynn, Essex County, MA on 14 October 1722; as the "father of Henry, 3rd" - aged 92 years[57].
MIGRATION Henry, Jr. migrated to America with his parents aboard the Abigail, sailing from England to Boston in June of 1635; he was 5 years old[2,61].
OCCUPATION Henry, Jr. was a carpenter by trade.
EDUCATION He could not write his name and signed with a mark on land deeds[5,53].
FAMILY NAMING CONVENTIONS He was known as "Henry, Jr." until the death of his father, when he became "Henry, Sr." At his death, he was noted as the "father of Henry, 3rd."
RESIDENCE & REAL ESTATE On 6 November 1663, Henry Collins, Jr. and his brother John Collins "Carpenters" bought for 50 pounds sterling, from Robert Rand, 9 acres of land, including a house and orchard. The deed was recorded at Salem on 17d:10m(December):1667[62].

On 7 April 1692, Henry -- now called "Senior" -- Collins and his wife Mary, gave by deed to his son, Henry -- formerly "3rd", but now called "Junior" -- 10 acres of land "on which son Henry's house now stands" bounded by Chadwell's lot, Henry Senior's lot and the county highway. Included, too, were three acres of salt marsh that Henry bought from Captain Thomas Marshall, bordered by Laughtons's Lane and Pines River[63]. On 27 Nov 1694, Henry -- still called "Senior" -- made an agreement with his brothers Joseph and Benjamin to divide the lands that their father had given them in common. Henry received 28 acres.

FREEMANSHIP Henry, Jr. took the Oath of Freeman on 18 April 1691[60] in Lynn, Essex co., MA,
TOWN SERVICE & LEGAL MENTION He was appointed Constable of Lynn, Essex co., MA in 1691; Fence Viewer in 1693/4; Surveyor of Highways in 1696-1698, Collector of Rates in 1697 and Selectman thereafter. At a town meeting of Lynn on 26 September 1717, Henry Collins was allowed to enlarge his pew in the church:
"Whereas a pew formerly granted to Henry Collins Jr and the town now being informed he had given the same to his sons, Henry Collins, Eleazer Collins, and his sons in law, viz. Moses Hudson and John Newhall amongst them and there being 4 families, therefore voted; that said Henry Collins, Eleazer Collins, Moses Hudson and John Newhall hath liberty to enlarge that pew beginning at the back part of the "sque" next the window and so upon a square formed so far as to leave a suitable allowance as the Committee for the Meeting House shall order and to maintain the windows against it."[64]
ESTATE No will for Henry Collins, Jr. is on file in either the Essex or Suffolk County Probate Courts.
MARRIAGE Circa 1650/1651 when Henry was 20, he married Mary TOLMAN, daughter of & Sarah [surname not known], in Lynn, Essex County, MA or Dorchester, Suffolk County, MA[40,45,49,65].

CHILDREN 11. i. Henry COLLINS, 3rd Henry was born on 2d:8m(October):1651 in Lynn, Essex County, MA[71] and died in Lynn, Essex County, MA. Henry took the Oath of Freeman on 18 April 1691[60]. On 3 January 1681 when Henry was 30, he first married Hannah LAMSON, in Lynn, Essex co., MA[40,45,72].

On 24 June 1685 when Henry was 34, he second married Sarah HEIRES/EYRE?/AYRES, in Lynn, Essex co., MA[40,72,73], as "Heires, Sarah".

12. ii. Hannah COLLINS Hannah was born on 1d:12m(February):1659 in Lynn, Essex County, MA[71] and died in Lynn, Essex County, MA on 1 February 1660; she was 1.
13. iii. John COLLINS John was born on 19d:6m(August):1662 in Lynn, Essex co., MA[71] and died on 16 August 1662 in Lynn, Essex County, MA.
14. iv. Sarah COLLINS Sarah was born on 9d:11m(January):1665 in Lynn, Essex County, MA[71] and died in Lynn, Essex County, MA on 9 January 1666; she was 1.
