Ann was born circa 1605 in England, as estimated from the fact that she was aged 30 when she came over in 1635.

|
Ann died in Lynn, Essex County, MA on 29 September 1691; she was 86, as "Collins, Ann, sr. wid.".

MIGRATION
|
Henry Sr. (age 29) and Ann (age 30) emigrated on the Abigail
with their three children Henry Jr. (age 5), John (age 3) and Margery
(age 2) -- sailing from Plymouth, England on 1 August 1635 and arriving in
Boston, Suffolk co., MA on 8 October 1635. They were infected with smallpox when they arrived.
They all had certificates of conformity from the minister of Stepney, as did their four servants:
Josua Griffith, Hugh Alley, Mary Roote and Jo[hn] Coke. Geo[rge] Burdin may or may not have also been
a servant.

Ann could not write her name and signed with a mark on land deeds.

PROOF OF SURNAME
|
Ann's last name comes from a 1990 account of the Collins family by Caroline Martino and
Marcia Lindberg which is published in The Essex Genealogist 10:1450-52.
They hyposthsize that her last name is Riall since they named a daughter Riall.
If so, she had a brother, William Ryall of Salem or Beverly, Essex co., MA.

On 13 December 1687, "Ann Collins of Lyn..., widow and relict of Henry Collins Sr. of Lynn,
deceased and Henry Collins, no Senior of Lyn Aforesaid, son of Ann Collins aforesaid,
executors to the last will and testament of Henry Collins Senior deceased,'
confirm to Thomas Bancroft Senior of Lynn the sale of 'a certain parcel of
land containing twenty acres by estimation situate and being in Lyn bounds up in the
country so-called'25 On 31 December 1687k, ' Ann Collins of lyn..., widow and
relict of Henry Collins Srt. of Lynn, deceased, and Henry Collins, now Senior of Lyn
aforesaid, son of Ann Collins aforesaid, esxecutors to the alst will and testament of
Henry Collins Senior decease,' confirm to John Bankecroft of Lynn the sale of 'a
certain parcel of land containing twenty acres y estimation situate and being in Lyn bounds
up in the country so-called'26 (The dates on these two deed raise the suspicion that
one of them was recorded incorrectly , and that both instruments were executed on the same
day.)..."

of Lynn....widow and relict of Henry Collins Sr. deceased...being very aged' bequeathed
to 'my eldest son Henry Collins' my house; to 'my grandson Nathaniel Collins'
a cow and a young mare, and agter my decease, 20s.'; to 'my grandchildren...the children
of my son John Collins, deceased and not named in my will before....Elizabeth, Maery, Daniel, Hannah,
Lois, ' £3; to 'my two grandsons, the sons of John Collins deceased...Samuel and Joseph
Collins,' 5s. each after her decease; also to 'Abigail, now Townsend'; to 'Susannah
Collins , the daughter of Benjamin Collins' 20s.; 'my sons Henry Collins and Joseph
Collins' executors; to 'my grandchildrens Johnsons...Mary, Richard, Ruth, Samuel'
20s. each; 'my well respected and trusty friends, Mr. Jeremy Shepard, pastor of the Church
of Christ inLynn and Oliver Purchass' overseers; 'I have paid unto Elizabeth Collins,
now alias Basset, so much of my legacy to her...21s.'54..."
