OCCUPATION He was the Vicar of Westbury Parish, Wiltshire, England from 1603 until his death in 1623[1].
ESTATE Most of what is known of this family comes from William's nuncupative will, dated 10 July 1623. In it, "...'William Thompson, clerk' named, among others, wife Elizabeth, sons William and Samuel, and 'each of his five daughters,' and appointed John Cogswell as one of his executors...[2,3]"
MARRIAGE #1 William first married Phillis [surname not known]. She died in 1608 and was buried on 19 July 1608 in Westbury Leigh, Wiltshire, England[1]. Her burial record reads: "Phillis, uxor of Mr. William Thompson, Vicar, Sepult. 19 Jyly, 1608" [sic].

8. ii. Samuel THOMPSON The Reverend Doctor Samuel THOMPSON[1] was born in 1616 and was baptized in Westbury Leigh, Wiltshire, England on 30 November of that year[1]. His baptismal record reads: "1616, Samuell, filius Willmi. Thompsonn, Vicarie de Westburie, baptizat Novemb. 30". Samuell grew up to become The Reverend Samuel Thompson, D.D., of London, Middlesex, England[1]. He married and had one child named William.
