BIRTH | John's birth date is unknown, but he was on the tax rolls of New Castle by 1728[22]. Given that he was named for his father, he may have been the eldest son, in which case he may have been born somewhere between 1696 and 1706. |
DEATH | Died in 1780 in New Castle, Rockingham co., NH[4,5,22]. |
COMMENTS | By all current accounts, Johnıs life was quite tragic and curiously absent of official record. His sons John, Samuel and Joseph all died on British prison ships and Deborah drowned when young[4,23]. Supposedly, he buried several other children[4] before his own death[4,5,22]. |
RESIDENCE & OCCUPATION | We know that John was a farmer[4,22] and had inherited Odiorne's Point. However, he had to defend the title to the land against his brothers and sister[22]. |
MARRIAGE | John married, but his wife's name and parentage is unknown. |
