BIRTH Born ca. 1633 in Piscataqua, NH.[1].

This Walter Neal is believed to be an abandoned illegitimate child of his father. According to Noyes, Libby and Davis[18], "..They note that the year of his birth as calculated from a 1683 deposition is 'coincident with the departure for England of the gallant artilleryman,' and that the proposed relation 'has been, in view of their names and connect[ion] with N.H., an obvious conclusion, and worldly experience teaches that where there are soldiers there are apt to be babies' ..."[19]

DEATH Walter died in New Castle, Rockingham co., NH between February 1712 & November 1717; he was 79.[1].
MILITARY & OCCUPATIONS He was the 1st Ensign of the Strawbery Banke Training Band and later became a Lieutenant and Captain.[1]
RESIDENCE Walter was also given a land grant in Greenland (Portsmouth), NH in 1655.[3].
MARRIAGE By 1661 when Walter was 28, he married Mary HAINES, in Dover, NH.[20,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28] Mary died after 31 March 1668.
