COMMENTS John's marriage to Sarah is yet another Coates from the Lynn, Essex co., MA Coates family which married into a New Castle family on my father's side. This links my father's and my mother's sides of the family centuries before their marriage.
MARRIAGE On 28 November 1746, when John was 22, he married Sarah COATES, daughter of Samuel COATES & Ruth2 HARTT in Boston, Suffolk co., MA by The Rev. Benjamin Colman.[31] Sarah was born on 3 July 1726 in Lynn, Essex co., MA.[32]
