HISTORIC TIDBIT As "Zachariah Marsh and mary his wife", he and Mary signed a petition supporting John & Elizabeth [Bassett] Proctor during the latter's persecution during the Salem Witch Hysteria. A rather brave act, given the times.
BIRTH & DEATH Zachary was born in 1637[1] and died in 1693; he was 56. Zachary was baptized in Salem, Essex co., MA on 30d:2m:1637[20]. Zachary was "the first Marsh born in the New World" and was also referred to as "Zachariah".
OCCUPATION & RESIDENCE He was a farmer and inherited half of his father's farm in 1672. The part of Salem in which he lived first became part of Danvers, and is now part of Peabody, Essex co., MA.
MARRIAGE In 15d:6m(August):1664 when Zachary was 27, he married Mary SILSBEE, daughter of Henry SILSBEE & Dorothy [surname not known], in Salem, Essex co., MA[1,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28,29,30].

CHILDREN 13. i. John MARSH John was born on 26 September 1665 in Salem, Essex co., MA[33].
14. ii. Mary MARSH Mary was born on 8 December 1666 in Salem, Essex co., MA[33]. At the age of 12, Mary was baptized in Salem, Essex co., MA on 5 October 1679[20]. Either she had a late baptism or there was a second daughter named Mary. Mary married Ebeneezer CUTLER.
15. iii. Zachariah MARSH Zachariah was born in [between 1667 and 1672] in Salem, Essex co., MA[33].
16. iv. Elizabeth MARSH Elizabeth was born in 1670 in Salem, Essex co., MA and baptized in Salem, Essex co., MA on 10 July 1670[35].
17. v. Jonathon MARSH Jonathon was born on 14 April 1672 in Salem, Essex co., MA[33]. Jonathan married Mary VERRY.
