However, Anderson[5] puts Johnson in his "Phantom File" with the following: "...Savage states that James Johnson of Portsmouth arrived in 1630 or 1631[2] apparently based on the fraudulent list of Masonian servants[3]. Pope cites a deposition of 1652 in which Johnson claims residence only as early as 1636[4]..."[5] |
