| ALL WE KNOW | He is mentioned in the will of "Dame Bennett, widow of Sir William Webb, sometime Alderman and Mayor of London," dated 14 January 1602, with a codicil dated 1604. The will was proved on 9 July 1604. One bequest was "to uncle Robert Greene, and William Scales, his son-in-law, and to cousin Margaret, wife of William Scales"[1,2]. We currently know nothing of his wife. |
