OCCUPATION & IRONY | In addition to owning a farm in the Saugus area, John was the infamous agent for the Iron Works in Saugus during the protracted legal actions between the Iron Works & the Hawkes family during the late 1600s, which culminated with John Hawkes cutting the dam[2]. Thus, it is ironic that his granddaughter, Margaret Cogswell, married John Hawkes' son, Moses. |
