Cinnamon Girl

Words & Music:

Neil Young

This tune is famous for its "one-note solo" repeated over the chord changes.  For sonic variety, you can make the Am7 an Am7sus4 chord and the C a Csus2 chord.  This is fully tabbed in the October 2009 issue of Guitar World.

C/D  D  |  C  G/B  F  |  G [2x - no last G chord second time]

D                   Am7(sus4)

I wanna live with a Cinnamon Girl.

C(sus2)              G                      F   G  D   Am7  D  C G C Am

I could be happy the rest of my life with a Cin-na-mon Girl

A dreamer of pictures, I run in the night.

You see us together, chasing the moonlight, my cinnamon girl.

INTRO REPRISE:

Ten silver saxes, a bass with a bow.

The drummer relaxes and waits between shows for his cinnamon girl.

A dreamer of pictures, I run in the night.

You see us together, chasing the moonlight, my cinnamon girl.

BRIDGE:

C

Pa sent me money; now I'm gonna make it, somehow.

               Gm7

I need another chance.

                            A                     A7sus4

You see, your baby loves to dance.  Yeah!  Yeah!  Yeah!
